Our School:

The Winnett School is the heart and pride of the community. Our students are outstanding and our staff is dedicated to each student. Our elementary consists of a kindergarten classroom, 1st & 2nd combination, 3rd & 4th combination and a 5th & 6th combination classroom. Our Junior High and High School students have rigorous core classes, as well as technology, finance, visual arts, music, and more. We have wonderful teachers and staff who offer a well rounded, caring, top-notch education to our students.

Technology:

Advanced technology is available in every classroom and used by both students and teachers. We have a newly constructed state of the art metals shop, with a CNC mill, lathe and plasma cutter. 7-12 students receive a Chromebook, and many classrooms use digital whiteboards.

Parent Groups:

We have an active Parents Involved in Education (PIE) group, that was founded to help to support our students and school. They provide support for Academics and the Arts in our school, and raise money though a variety of efforts.

Lunch Program with Local Beef:

We have breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack build into our class schedule. Our district serves local beef and fresh local grown vegetables, through our farm to table program.

School-wide Title I Program:

Title I program is developed to focus on all students. We have weekly meetings that are focused on student achievement/concerns. Our High School is scheduled to have a period dedicated to Title services, where students have time to go to any class to receive extra help.

A Little About Winnett, Montana:

The home of the Rams! Winnett is the county seat and the only town located in Petroleum County. The town of Winnett has a population of 180 people and is nestled under the rimrocks in the southern part of the county. This rural community is located 90 miles northeast of Billings and 50 miles east of Lewistown. Winnett may be small, but has a thriving community with most services available. The main industry in the area is agriculture. Outdoor recreation and hunting opportunities are endless in Petroleum County. Petroleum County is home to large herds of elk, deer, birds, and antelope for the hunting enthusiast.
